Korosia tree Sometimes known as the **Buddha tree**, is frequently linked to two distinct species:

**1. *Ficus religiosa* Bodhi Tree**
Gautama Buddha is said to have achieved enlightenment beneath this revered fig tree. Both Buddhist and Hindu traditions hold it in high regard.

Heart-shaped leaves with a long, tapering tip; maximum height of 30 meters
– Bark: smooth and light gray while young, turning rough as it ages – Flowers: Not very noticeable; the tree bears little figs
